ARAGORN was actively represented at the Soil Pollution and Remediation Cluster Meeting held recently in Aarhus, Denmark, where experts, researchers, and EU-funded initiatives gathered to exchange knowledge on some of the most pressing challenges related to soil pollution, land contamination, and innovative remediation strategies.

During the meeting, ARAGORN’s coordinator and several project partners joined fellow projects in a series of discussions focused on emerging contaminants, risk assessment approaches, and the need for integrated solutions to restore soil health across Europe. The event provided a valuable platform for sharing experiences, aligning methodologies, and strengthening collaboration within the EU’s environmental research community.

A key contribution from ARAGORN was the presentation of four newly developed factsheets, each dedicated to one of the major groups of contaminants addressed in the project: Metals, PETCO (Petroleum-derived contaminants), OCBs (Organochlorine-based compounds),PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).

These factsheets, designed to offer clear and accessible insights into contamination pathways, environmental risks, and relevant remediation approaches, were distributed on-site and well received by participants, as they generated interest and stimulated conversations on current scientific knowledge and ongoing research gaps. The factsheets will soon be publicly available on the ARAGORN Zenodo community and on the project’s official website, stay tuned!
