Throughout April, a collaborative social media campaign led by ARAGORN together with two other EU projects, GUARDIANSĀ and MRV4SOC, shed light on key concepts shaping the field of soil contamination research. Centered on a shared Glossary of soil contamination, the campaign aimed to make technical language more accessible to the public, and to increase interest towards relevant topics for soil contamination.

Each week, a visually engaging social media card introduced and explained a term central to the ongoing efforts to understand, prevent, and remediate soil pollution. The featured terms included:

  • Resilience

  • Zero Pollution

  • Forever Chemicals

  • Contaminated Site

  • Soil Remediation

The campaign successfully reached and engaged a broad audience on social media, creating a space for knowledge-sharing and public awareness. It also highlighted the importance of building a common vocabulary to ensure effective communication across science, policy, and society in addressing the urgent challenge of soil health.
